In a few words I am going to try to explain what a Batizado is.

As in any other Martial Art, Capoeira has Belts
but to receive one, you have to train!!!

You must deserve it!

Capoeiristas (Capoeira students) will be receiving their first belt
where they have to play Capoeira against a Graduated Capoeirista like
Professor, Contra Mestre or Mestre.

On their 2nd, 3rd and higher belts, things start to get more interesting
because they have to play capoeira against more than one Graduated Capoeirista without any rest in between.

The gist of capoeira and the Batizado is simple:
To knock the students off their feet or hands.

That is what the Grading is all about.

Masters will be using their knowledge, experience, and graceful
but malicious movements to trip the students over on the floor.

Believe it or not most of the falls happen without
grabbing - just soft graceful footwork!

However, these are just words.
